Philosophy

I believe that:

• Parents play an important role in their child's education.
• A child should build a firm foundation in each level before advancing to the next. Otherwise, the "accumulated deficits" will hinder his/her ability to fully grasp the related advanced topics in the higher level.

Purpose

This site provides information about primary level Singapore math on the internet for easy reference by all. Primary schools in Singpore have a class size of about 40 pupils (now being reduced to about 30, starting in year 2005 with primary 1). It is therefore difficult for teachers to ensure that each and every child fully understands the topics taught. The information provided here should be helpful to parents wishing to guide their child in achieving a better understanding of Singapore math.
